Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies and local storage tokens are small data packages saved onto your browser or mobile device when you visit our website or operate gate scanner terminals. They are fundamental to maintaining secure login sessions, protecting against CSRF attacks, and caching gate validation records in low-bandwidth network environments.
2. Categories of Cookies We Use
Essential & Authentication Cookies (Mandatory)
These cookies are strictly necessary to deliver the core service. They authenticate student and organizer accounts, verify cryptographic session signatures, maintain anti-CSRF protections, and hold gate scanner security keys. Without these tokens, the platform cannot function safely.
Offline Gate Cache & Storage (Operational)
Used on mobile volunteer scanner devices to temporarily buffer gate check-in confirmations when mobile connectivity drops during peak festival rush hours. These records synchronize automatically upon reconnection.
Performance & Latency Monitoring
We measure sub-second API round-trip times and error rates during high-concurrency ticket drops to ensure server nodes do not bottleneck under heavy campus registration traffic. No identifiable student data is included.
3. Zero Third-Party Advertising Cookies
FestRelay does not deploy third-party advertising cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or cross-site fingerprinting scripts.
We believe campus event tools should respect student focus and digital integrity. Your browsing habits on FestRelay are never broadcast to external data brokers.
4. Managing & Disabling Cookies
Most modern web browsers allow you to modify cookie preferences within your device settings. However, disabling essential session tokens will prevent you from logging into your organizer dashboard or verifying passes at campus gates.
